AF QUICK GROUND PROBE allows hard bedrock dept accurate measurement and semi-quantitative evaluation of soil resistance and stratification.
 

 

AFgtc designed and developed two measuring systems:

AF HEAVY QUICK GROUND PROBE:

Engineered to operate in conjunction with AF Coring System, employing the same energizer and extractor of AF SHALLOW CORE SYSTEM (Patent N° 01268480)

AF LIGHT QUICK GROUND PROBE:

quick surveying system of a predominantly granular nature loose or weakly consolidated pedogenetic covers

Allows:

  • measurement of hard bedrock depth underlying hearty materials;

  • estimation of resistance to penetration of different level in the hearty cover, (geotechnic qualitative stratigraphy) by measuring time penetration rate.

Engineered to operate in conjunction with AF coring system, it employees the same energizer and extractor.

 

 

AF QUICK GROUND HEAVY PROBE components: 

 

Designed for thickness measurement of predominantly granular nature and loose or weakly consolidated soils overlying lithic bedrock.

  • Drilling strings

  • Heads

  • Energizer: self powered impulsive load generator (breaking hummer) 

  • Extractor: high lift jack

 The speedrate,  in a predominantly granular material (aeolian sands, distal tephra, loess, etc...), is controlled by the geotechnical characteristics of ground materials and provides a first qualitative stratigraphic information.

DRILLING STRINGS:


 Cylindrical rods, F= 16 mm, AISI 8640 heat treated and hardened; single rod length 70 cm. Maximum operating depth 20 m


HEADS:


 Self centering conical bits 

F ext. = 20 mm

ENERGIZER:


 Gas driven light hummer; minimum energy 12.5J/strike, frequency 20-30 Hz

 

RECOVERY SYSTEM:


 120 cm run extractor.

Components:

  • High Lift Jack (Max pull 3000Kg)

  • ground plate;

  • hooks and string clamp.
 

DRILLING STRINGS:

 

Cylindrical rods, heat treated and hardened.

 

Single rod length 70 cm.
